Puriri tree

Malo lelei bloggers, in puriri have been learning about where our name comes from. The puriri tree is a native tree that my class is named after. The things I found out were that the puriri tree can grow upto 20m high with a rounded canopy of dark green glossy leaves, which is on top an often irregular massive light grey or beige trunk.  The leaves consist of three or five shiny, leathery leaflets, on a long stalk.
The puriri tree also comes with it’s own moth.

Do you know about any other native trees in nz?
